ICN International Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Nursing Network (INP/APNN)

The ICN International NP/APN Nursing Network was launched October 1, 2000.  AANP was an active member of the steering committee that made the initiation of INP/APNN possible. The Academy continues to facilitate network activities by providing the server and IT technical support for the INP/APNN web site http://www.icn-apnetwork.org/, Madrean Schober, AANP International Relations Liaison, is past chair of the network core steering group and continues to be an active member in promoting network activities.

The ICN INPAPNN has evolved into one of the most active networks for the International Council of Nurses based in Geneva, Switzerland.  In addition to the core steering group, six subgroups provide additional international expertise in the following areas:  education and practice; research; health policy; communications; fundraising/sponsorship and conferences.

The network aims to support NP and APN roles as they emerge worldwide.  In addition, INP/APNN provides a forum and vehicle for exchange of knowledge, identifies and monitors professional issues, follows trends and acts as a resource for dissemination
of work in the field. Communication occurs through various methods including network bulletins, meetings, conferences and membership listserves. There is neither membership fee to join INPAPNN nor any requirements for affiliation with other organizations. Access the network web site at
http://www.icn-apnetwork.org/ to access membership guidelines and application forms for general membership as well as participation in the Network Resource Bank (NRB).

Madrean Schober, MSN, NP-C, FAANP: AANP International Relations Liaison. She is past Chair of INPAPNN and continues to actively participate on the network Communication Subgroup.
