2009 Funding Cycle

The October 16, 2009 deadline to acquire applications materials for the 2009 Funding Cycle has now passed. Application materials are no longer available. The application submission deadline for the 2009 Funding Cycle is October 21, 2009. We regret that we are unable to offer deadline extensions.

The information below outlines what was available for funding during the 2009 Funding Cycle. A total of 14 grants were available through 4 grant categories – Practicing NP Project, Practicing NP Research, Student NP Project, and Student NP Research. Listed with the offering information are corresponding grant eligibility requirements.

AANP Foundation Scholarship & Grant Program offerings, eligibility requirements, and program dates vary from funding cycle to funding cycle. The information below reflects the 2009 Funding Cycle information ONLY and is presented as a sample of what the AANP Foundation has offered. Offerings, eligibility requirements, and program dates will change for future funding cycles.

  • For PROJECT Proposals: grant funds must be used to help fund a healthcare and/or education project designed and administered by NPs; the project must directly deliver healthcare to a specified community/population and/or educate a specific community/population about prevalent healthcare issues; the project must take place within the United States; the project must be a new project (new defines a project that is in the planning stage or has not been implemented for more than 6 months by December 31, 2009)

FAANP Giving Circle 2009 NP Mentoring Project Grant

  • Applicants must be either an NP or NP student pursuing Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) education; DNP students that are not NPs or will not be NPs at the end of their DNP program are not eligible
  • DNP degree may not be received before May 1, 2010
  • EdD, DNSc, PhD students are not eligible
  • Minimum DNP study GPA 3.75
  • Applicants must be working on his/her capstone/final project required for completion of DNP degree
  • Applicants are required to be the principal investigator (PI) of the DNP Project
  • DNP Projects must be relevant to healthcare provided by NPs within the United States
  • Grant funds must be used during the specified funding cycle dates
  • Grant funds are to be used strictly for expenses outlined in the budget of the proposed DNP Project
