How do I join AANP?

You can apply for membership with AANP online or by mail. Visit the Why Join? page of our website to Join online or download a membership application.

 

What do I do if I have received a message that my email is already in the system?

If you have received this message, please log in with the email address and password you created. If you do not remember your password, please use the Forgot Your Password link and a temporary password will be emailed to you.

AANP has an agreement with several states and may have a record of your information based on information received from the State Boards of Nursing.

 

How long will it take to process my membership application?

Online applications are processed immediately upon submission of payment. Please allow time for delivery for applications sent by mail. Once your application is approved, you will receive an email confirmation.

 

What is MyAANP?

MyAANP is a registered user portal where individuals can create a profile, update their account information, access member benefits, register for conferences, manage CEs, and more.

 

How do I renew my membership?

You can renew your membership online by logging into your MyAANP profile and selecting Renew Your AANP Membership, by mailing in an application, or by contacting the Membership Department at 512-505-0242.

Members can sign up for auto-renewal and save 5% on membership dues by adding the option to their purchase when joining or renewing. Payment type must be a valid credit/debit card. Contact the Membership department for more information about auto-renewal..

 

What is the duration of membership?

Membership is valid for one calendar year from the date of activation/renewal.

 

What are Specialty Practice Groups (SPGs)? How do I join?

SPGs are online opportunities to collaborate with colleagues who share a common area of clinical expertise. Find out more by visiting our SPG page.

Existing AANP members may log into MyAANP to join one or more SPGs. If you are not a current AANP member, join today, and include one or more SPGs with your membership!



What are the accepted methods of payment?

AANP accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, money orders, and personal or business checks for the payment of membership dues.

Auto-Renewal is also available for the membership dues of NP, Retired and Associate categories. Payment type for auto-renewal must be a valid credit/debit card.

 

How do I sign up for auto-renewal?

Members can sign up for auto-renewal and save 5% on membership dues by adding the option to their order when joining or renewing online or by selecting the option on the back of the paper application. Payment type must be a valid credit/debit card.

How do l update my payment information if it has changed?

You can update your payment information by logging into your MyAANP account and clicking Update Payment Information located under the Customer Service tab of your profile.

 

How do I remove the auto-renewal setting from my account?

I'm a new member. When will I receive my account number and other AANP information?

An email will be sent to you with your account number and additional information regarding your member benefits. You can print/view your membership card or certificate at any time by logging into your MyAANP profile.

You can update your account information anytime online by logging into your MyAANP profile and clicking on “Edit Your Profile”. How do I update my email/login?

You can update your email/login online by logging into your MyAANP profile, and clicking on the blue “Change Email/Login” button located on the “Edit Your Profile” screen. How do I reset my password?

To reset your password, click on the Forgot Your Password link located on the MyAANP login page and enter the email address that is registered to your account. An email will then be sent to you that includes a temporary password to access your account. Temporary passwords will expire after 24 hours of the request being sent.

 

How can I obtain a copy of a receipt for my membership?

Once your application is processed, a receipt is automatically sent to the email address on file. Copies of your receipt are also available online by logging into your MyAANP profile, or you may contact the membership department by phone at 512-505-0242 or via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. To obtain a copy of your receipt through your MyAANP profile, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Login to your MyAANP using your registered email address and password.
  2. Scroll over the Customer Service tab
  3. Click on Order History/Receipts.
  4. Select the receipt to print/email.


As a AANP member, do I get a printed copy of the JAANP and the JNP?

Members receive online access to JAANP and JNP. In addition, members will also receive a print copy of the JNP with the exception of Student members.

Online access includes round-the-clock access to current and archived articles, along with use of organizational tools such as My Profile allowing you to search, save and manage articles all in one place.

To access the journals online, log into your MyAANP profile.



What is NP Finder and how can I be included?

NP Finder is a web-based NP locator service that helps consumers search for NPs by specialty, city, state and zip code.

To register your practice information, login to your MyAANP profile, click on Edit Your Profile, and add your practice site information on the Worksites section of your profile.

 

What NP Organizations are current members of AANP?

A list of current NP Organization members can be found in the NP Organization Member Directory located under the Membership tab on AANP’s homepage.

Does AANP certification automatically make me a member of AANP?

No. AANP certification is a separate entity from AANP membership. AANP membership requires completion of a membership application and payment of annual dues. To join AANP, visit the Why Join? page of our website for more information.

Is my AANP account number the same as my AANP Certification number?

No. Your AANP account number is separate from any AANP Certification number that you may have. AANP Certification numbers are prefaced by an A (Adult), F (Family) or G (Gerontological).

Who can vote and/or hold an AANP state or national office?

All members desiring to seek state or national office must be an AANP member in good standing for the 12 months previous to the date on which the call for nominations begins.

NP Members, Post Master’s Student Members and Career Starter Members shall have the right to vote and hold elected office at the national and state levels.

Student Members shall have the right to vote and hold elected office at the state level.

Retired Members shall have the right to vote in national and state elections. Retired members have the right to seek state office but may not seek national office.

Associate Members do not have the right to vote or hold office.

NP Organization Membership does not confer voting or office holding privileges either as a group or on any individual member of an NP Organization Member who is not a current member of AANP.

Corporate Council Membership does not confer voting or office holding privileges either as a corporation or on any individual member who is employed by that corporation, unless that employee is an individual member of AANP in one of the individual membership categories.

Are my membership dues tax deductible?

AANP Membership dues are not deductible as a charitable contribution for U.S. federal income tax purposes, but may be deductible as a professional expense. AANP estimates that 5% of your dues are not deductible because of AANP's lobbying activities on behalf of its members. AANP Membership dues are non-refundable.
